Buccal Fat Pad Removal & The Healing Process

I have received a few emails from people who have also had the buccal fat pad removal (cheek reduction), and they have all noted that their cheeks had swollen up like a chipmunk after surgery. I just want to make it clear that everyone heals differently. I did not get swelling of the cheeks. I am not sure if I was just lucky, or my surgeon was extra gentle when removing the pads. So if you do have the buccal pads removed, don’t freak out if you have lots of swelling. This seems to be common from the response I have received.
